Simon Peter reminds us that all of our past is shameful, so that we may remain humble. The first chapter shows us the growth of faith to perfection, the love of God. Only in this way will we be granted entrance into the Kingdom of God abundantly. In the second chapter, Peter warns us about false prophets and teachers who will appear especially at the time of the Lord’s return. In the third chapter, Peter recalls God’s judgments in the past and warns the scoffers who do not believe that the Lord will soon return. Finally, Peter exhorts us to prepare for the second coming of the Lord.
