Normally, the law is a restriction for people. James, however, is talking about the law of liberty. How does that fit together? The law of God – his word – makes people free. When we look into His wonderful Word and persevere in it, it sets us free from self, from the flesh, from the world, and from all negative things. What a glorious freedom!
