Christ as Spiritual Sacrifices Acceptable to God - Worship in Spirit and Truth

English

From the very beginning, God required two things of His people when they came to worship Him: the right place (the temple in Jerusalem) and the right offerings (the animals and grain described in Leviticus 1–7). Today in the new covenant, the place of worship is the living church built on Christ as cornerstone (Eph. 2:20–22; 1 Pet. 2:4–5), and the offerings are no longer animals — they are Christ Himself, experienced day by day in the life of the believer. The purpose of this book is to show practically how each of the five Levitical offerings finds its reality in Christ and how believers can learn to offer Him as spiritual sacrifices to the Father at the Lord's Table. The Burnt Offering reveals Christ as the One who was absolutely for God — surrendering His divine glory, taking the form of a servant, and becoming obedient even to the point of death on the cross (Phil. 2:5–8). The Meal Offering, made of fine flour without leaven, reveals the perfect, balanced humanity of Christ — in contrast to our fallen, presumptuous, and self-willed nature. It shows that every servant of God needs the humanity of Christ, not just doctrinal knowledge. The Peace Offering represents Christ as our peace, through whom God and man are fully reconciled (Eph. 2:14–18). The Sin Offering shows Christ conquering death and releasing believers from the dominion and root of sin (Rom. 6:9–11; Heb. 2:14–15). The Trespass Offering points to the precious blood of Christ that cleanses specific trespasses and sanctifies the conscience (1 John 1:7, 9). The book also covers the drink offering — Christ pouring out His entire life for God, with Paul's own martyrdom as a living application (Phil. 2:17; 2 Tim. 4:6). The closing word of encouragement makes clear that God's purpose is not merely that we know about these offerings but that we experience Christ as such in daily life, and then bring the best of that experience as a spiritual sacrifice to satisfy the Father. When believers gather at the Lord's Table and offer Christ in this way, the Father is satisfied, the saints grow and mature, and the church advances toward its ultimate goal — the firstfruits standing with the Lamb on the heavenly Mount Zion (Rev. 14:1–5).
